Electrolysis
Q-
What is electrolysis?
A-
A certified electrologist inserts a tiny
probe into the hair follicle along side
the hair and a small amount of current
is delivered to the probe to destroy the
hair root either by heat or chemical
reaction. In some methods both are used
at the same time.
Q-
How long has electrolysis been
performed?
A-
Electrolysis was first discovered by Dr.
Charles Michel, an ophthalmologist in
1869. Since then his technique has been
improved upon time and again as new
technology presents itself, while
preserving the underlining original
process of safe and permanent hair
removal.
Q-
What can I expect during the initial
consultation?
A-
You will be given a free 15 minute
Permanent Hair Removal consultation and
also receive 20% off your first visit. We will explain the entire process of
hair removal and evaluate your hair
removal goals to determine the best
electrolysis plan for you.
Q-
Who can benefit from electrolysis?
A-
Both men and women can benefit from
electrolysis at some time in their life.

bikini line or whatever area you find
problematic, we can help rid you of the
unwanted hair and boost self-confidence.
Q-
How long does electrolysis take to
achieve permanency?
A-
Electrolysis is not a one session only
process. It requires time and patience
to for optimal results. In the end it is
time well spent to achieve permanent
hair removal.
Q-
What are the causes of hair growth?
A-
The two most common causes are heredity
and the aging process. Glandular
disturbances, pregnancy, stress, certain
drugs, obesity and even anorexia nervosa
are other causes of excess hair growth.
They all stimulate the hormone necessary
to grow excess hair.
Hairs
are best treated when in their hair
growth cycle. Each square inch of the
skin contains several hundred hair
follicles. Only a certain amount of
these follicles are in an active hair
growth cycle. The remaining hair
follicles could grow hairs at any time
depending on the particular hair cycle
and causes of the excess hair for the
particular client. When these new hairs
eventually do grow, they are growing
from previously dormant hair follicles,
in the same area that has been treated.
They are not necessarily the same hair
follicles but may appear to be to the
naked eye.
Q-
What do I do before and after treatment?
A-
Before treatment, hairs should be about
1/8 of an inch long. Once you have
started treatment, do not wax or tweeze
hairs. Cutting hairs is the best way to
treat hairs during the process. After
treatment care is vital to ensure
healing. Do not scratch or pick the
area, use soap on the area, go outside
or use a tanning booth for 24 hours
after treatment. Cortaid or an
antibiotic lotion are excellent products
to use 24 hours after treatment.
